Best Kwanzaa Captions & Quotes for Instagram
Every year on December 26th, the 7-day celebration of Kwanzaa begins. We’ve curated these meaningful Kwanzaa captions & quotes for your Instagram posts!
The week-long celebration of Kwanzaa honors African heritage in African American culture. Each day of Kwanzaa is devoted to celebrating the “Nguzo Saba,” which in Swahili means the seven principles. All seven principles of Kwanzaa are inspiring, uplifting, positive, and centered on traditions of the African harvest season. The name Kwanzaa comes from the Swahili phrase matunda ya kwanza, meaning “first fruits of the harvest.“ Celebrations include daily ceremonies with food, decorations and other cultural objects, such as the kinara, which holds seven candles, representing the 7 principles. A candle is lit on each day to celebrate each one of these principles. On the last day, a black candle is lit, and gifts are shared with loved ones.
